UW Provision, located in Middleton, WI is a family-owned company that is looking for a motivated and qualified technician to assist and perform a wide variety of repairs, maintenance, installation, replacements, preventative maintenance and diagnostic tasks for various makes and models of trucks and heavy machinery. 2+ years of experience is recommended for this position. This position can be worked as a 4, 10 hour day schedule or a 5, 8 hour day schedule with opportunities of over time in either schedule. Pay will be reflected based on experience and CDL status.
Primary Duties:
Repair all equipment within normal time requirements including but is not limited to, straight trucks, semi tractors, semi-trailers, reefer units, light duty vehicles
Working with a small team of other mechanics in a shop environment
Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using common practice diagnostics techniques
Conduct safety inspections and ensure that all equipment and vehicles are following safety regulations
Weld and fabricate parts as needed
Working with heavy truck tires and rims and being able to inspect, repair and mount them
Work with electrical systems and perform electrical repairs
Inspect and repair air brakes and other safety-critical components
Working on thermo king and carrier reefer units
Provide excellent Driver, warehouse communication, and work in a fast-paced environment
Collaborate with other technicians and drivers to ensure that all repairs are completed to the highest standard
Being able to ask questions and learn from peers
Qualifications:

Diesel/Heavy equipment maintenance degree or high school diploma
2+ years’ experience -heavy duty maintenance experience, automotive repair is also a plus
Must be able to work with other employees to get required tasks completed
Must have a valid Driver License with a class A or B CDL preferred or willingness to get one.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Must be a fast learner
Must be able to show up to work on time and work 8+ hours per day
Work safely in a shop environment
Relevant Experience:
Heavy equipment service and repair
Truck service and repair
Automotive repair experience
Schedule:
4 day-10 hour shift
5 day- 8 hour shift
Monday to Friday
Weekends as needed
Skills & Knowledge:
Ability to work cooperatively with others
Good oral and written communication skills
Mechanically inclined
High school diploma or equivalent or higher
Maintain a positive attitude
Strong attention to detail
Physical Capabilities:
Must be able to lift 80+ lbs
Must be able to stand/lift/walk 8+ hours per day
