Diesel Mechanic
Job description
UW Provision is seeking an experienced Automotive Mechanic- [Diesel experience is a plus]. Our on-premises shop would be considered medium/heavy duty. We are looking for an adaptable personality, willing to learn and join our team of technicians. The shift can be somewhat flexible after the training and probation period has been completed. This position will require 4-5 days a week hour can be determined.
Our fleet consist of about 30 straight trucks and tractor/trailers with refrigeration units on them. All mechanic experience is a plus with the ability to diagnose and repair a wide range of diesel engines and equipment.

Responsibilities:
-Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, and other mechanical components.
–Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues using common practice diagnostics techniques
-Conduct safety inspections and ensure that all equipment and vehicles are following safety regulations.
-Weld and fabricate parts as needed.
-Working with heavy truck tires and rims and being able to inspect, repair and mount them.
-Work with electrical systems and perform electrical repairs
-Inspect and repair air brakes and other safety-critical components
-Provide excellent Driver, warehouse communication, and work fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
-Collaborate with other technicians and drivers to ensure that all repairs are completed to the highest standard.
Qualifications:
-A strong background in Automotive/Diesel mechanics, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in professional wrenching
-A Valid driver’s license
-The ability to operate heavy equipment
-CDL certification is a huge plus and pay will reflect
-Knowledge of Cummins, International, Kenworth and other heavy-duty equipment is a plus
-The ability to work with electrical systems and perform electrical repairs
-Preferred associates degree Diesel equipment
-Willingness to learn and stay up to date with the latest technologies and techniques in the field
-The ability to lift up-to 80lb
Skills:
-Service Technician experience
-Experience working with industrial equipment
-Experience with Cummins and other heavy-duty equipment
-Experience with air brakes
-Ability to weld and fabricate parts as needed
-Knowledge of electrical systems and ability to perform electrical repairs
