Blackberry Brandy Marinated Flank Steak

Easy peasy Blackberry sqeezy! The perfect end of summer grill recipe is here! Combining the local tastes of WI plus a bonus homemade blackberry brandy BBQ sauce recipe to top it all off.
Ingredients
- 1.5lbs UWP Flank Steak
- 1/4c Wollersheim Blackberry Brandy
- 1/4c Brown Sugar
- 1/4c Olive Oil
- 1/4c Soy Sauce
- 3 Garlic Cloves
- 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes
- Salt & Pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a small bowl, combine all of the marinade ingredients with a whisk. Stir well and dump your marinade into a shallow container or ziploc bag. Place the steak in with it and make sure it is fully covered with your marinade. Let this sit in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight if possible.
- When you’re ready to cook, heat a large skillet over high heat on the stove or preheat your grill to 450F.
- Remove your steak from the marinade and blot off excess moisture with a paper towel.
- Place your steak directly on your skillet or grill and cook for about 5-6 min per side for Medium Rare.
Blackberry Brandy BBQ Sauce
- 1 Tbsp finely Minced shallots or green onion
- About 1/2 of a medium shallot
- 3 tbsp Red wine vinegar
- 1/2 Cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 Cup Ketchup
- 1/4 Cup Blackberry brandy
- 1/4 Cup Honey
- Salt & Pepper to taste
- 1/2 Tbsp Cornstarch (if sauce is too thin)
- Or simmer over the stove to thicken
- Mix well and serve!
- If you have a whole shallot, toss everything in a food processor and combine well.
