Cook the perfect Salmon
Our Norwegian Salmon Fillets are on sale and this is the best and easiest way to prep them. All you need are our house- favorite Norwegian Salmon Fillets, salt & pepper, Olive oil and your favorite side. We love these with herbed rice or a creamy pasta and salad
Prep
- Take your salmon out of the refrigerator and let it rest for about 15 minutes so it can get closer to room temperature.
- Use a paper towel to pat down the salmon- this will help prevent the salmon from sticking to the pan. Then, season with salt and pepper.
Prepare
- Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Allow the pan to fully heat up, to test if your pan is ready flick some water onto the pan and if the water evaporates immediately, the pan is ready.
- Add oil to the pan before adding your salmon. When adding the salmon to the pan make sure the skin-side is down. The majority of the cooking will take place with the skin-side down on the pan.
- Cook the salmon without touching it until the lighter-colored flesh has moved about 3/4 of the way up the fillet, this will take 8-9 minutes for a thicker fillet and 6-7 minutes for a thinner fillet.
- Use a spatula to flip the salmon over and cook for an additional 1-2 minutes depending on thickness. Allow the salmon to rest for 3 minutes outside the pan before serving.
